Meaning of the Rajin Seizure
Rajin was the next port south of Unggi. Its seizure allowed Soviet naval and landing forces to extend the operation toward Chongjin. The Rajin record marks the transition from the first coastal entry to a wider collapse of Japanese-held northeastern Korean port positions.
